Beginning of the fight for Women Suffrage-*1776* Abigail Adams writes to John Adams and says "Remember the Ladies", However, the Constitution said "All men are equal."
*1839*-Mississippi passes the first married woman property act.
*1848*-The first women's rights convention is occurring in Seneca Falls, New York. More conventions are starting to be held daily.
*1866*-Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Susan B. Anthony form the American Equal Rights Association.
*1872*-Susan B. Anthony is arrested and brought to trial in Rochester, New York.
*1878*-A women suffrage amendment is gladly introduced in the United States Congress.
*1890*-The National American Women Suffrage Association is reunited by Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the leader of the association.
*1914*-The national federations of women"s clubs is endorsed for the suffrage campaign!
*1916*-The National American Women Suffrage Association president, Carrie Chapman, reveals her strategy to get suffrage victory. Later in 1916 Jennette Rankin of Montana becomes the first American woman elected. She represented her state.
*1918-1920*-World War 1 slows down the suffrage campaign. Some suffragist do "war work" to prove they deserve the vote.
Ending of the fight for women suffrage- *August 26, 1920*-The nineteenth amendment is passed. Women are free to vote for their government and laws. This is a very important day for women!
