How the Women Were Treated
During this suffrage movement, women were not treated fairly. They were treated very poorly. Men would control their wife's property. Men would also collect and use the wife's money. They even would select the clothing the wife would wear and the food her and her children ate. Men controlled their wives freedom of thought, action, and even speech. The husband had the right to give the wife's children to other people, even unborn babies. Men could punish their wife physically or mentally. Women had no money back then. They couldn't find jobs either. Men controlled Women's lives then.
